IFSA - NAFIPS 2019: Best Paper Awards

There will be three IFSA awards for outstanding papers presented at IFSA-NAFIPS 2019:

• The IFSA-2019 Best Paper Award
• The IFSA-2019 Best Student Paper Award
• The IFSA-2019 Outstanding Poster Award

Certificates of recognition, recognition on the conference web page, and public recognition at the conference will be presented to all awardees. Some of the awards come with cash prizes. NAFIPS is subsidizing all student registrations.

The IFSA-2019 Best Paper Award

This award is presented to the authors of the paper considered to make the most significant contribution to the conference.

The IFSA Awards Committee will automatically evaluate all accepted full papers, based on their review reports, and select 5 finalists. The winner will be selected from the at-conference presentations of the 5 finalists, judged by the session chair and two referees.

The IFSA-2019 Best Student Paper Award

The IFSA grants this award to recognize students' research and development effort in fuzzy set theory and applications, and to motivate communication and interaction among students and the fuzzy set communities worldwide. The award carries a cash prize of 500 Euros (about 580 US dollars on 8 August 2018).

To be eligible, applicants must email
(1) a statement, and
(2) a confirmation statement to the IFSA Vice President for Awards, Professor Guoqing Chen, by the final paper submission deadline of March 5, 2019.

• The statement must include the paper's title, all author and co-author names, affiliations, and paper number within the paper submission system.
• The confirmation statement, attached as a scanned copy, must be signed by the department head or program director, and must include the names of the university and program where the student has registered for study, and the period of study.
• The student must present the paper in-person at the conference.

The IFSA-2019 Best Poster Award

This award recognizes excellence in both research and presentation. All registered conference participants can vote for selection of the winner during the poster session. (We will post the times here upon completion of the final program.)

The award will be presented to the author or authors who are present at the poster session.
