- Times
and
places for the course and final exam
- Assignments: Assignments will be given in-class, and may be
posted on the Moodle site for the course. (Grades for the
assignments will also be posted on Moodle.
- Text: We will be using a manuscript written by the instructor.
The manuscript will be posted, chapter by chapter, as resources on
Moodle.
The text we have used in the past is: Numerical Methods, third
edition, by J. Douglas Faires and Richard Burden. This is still a
recommended reference.
The manuscript will have various tips on using MATLAB. Also, the
MATLAB help system has extensive documentation. There are also
numerous other printed references on the use of MATLAB.
- Prerequisites: MATH 350 with grade of C or better and working
knowledge of a computer language. (However, MATLAB will be used
for the examples in the course, and registered UL students have easy
access to MATLAB.)
