INTOPT_90: A Suite of Fortran 90 Programs for Verified Global Optimization

First, local optimization and global optimization will be contrasted. Heuristic versus deterministic algorithms and algorithms with automatic verification of the result will then be briefly discussed. Third, a very brief overview of interval algorithms for global optimization will be given. Finally, the the Fortran 90 software INTOPT_90 will be introduced through examples. Strengths and weaknesses of the INTOPT_90 package will be outlined.
