The First Exam:
The first exam will be on Tuursday, Febuary 24, and will cover:

Taylor polynomial approximations,

computer arithmetic (including floating point systems and interval arithmetic),

the "bigoh" notation,

Newton's method, including convergence analysis.
The exam will be closedbook. Come prepared with paper and
pencil or pen.
