Math. 655, Fall, 2006 Required Work
Work: Each student will be required to complete one or more major
projects, that include both written reports and in-class presentations.
The students will discuss with the instructor which projects are appropriate,
and whether the project can be a group project. For students working
with me on their Ph.D., the project can be a chapter of their dissertation
or a substantial report on work done; in this case, an in-depth in-class
presentation should be given. The best reports will be significant in the
sense that they will be publishable or lead to publishable advances in
the field.
