edition, by Anton and Rorres
A copy of the online text and other resources is also available without
charge to those who have bought new copies of the text, through Wiley
Plus, and for a fee to others. To access the online text,
tutorials, and other resources, go to http://edugen.wiley.com/. I
will be assigning problems from Wiley Plus, and counting them in the
grade.
- Prerequisite: Math. 250 or Math. 270 with grade of C or better.
- A highly recommended
resource: MATLAB
(MATrix LABoratory) is based on linear algebra computations.
Familiarity with it is bound to help you in this course, in other
engineering courses, and likely also in post-graduate research or employment.
MATLAB is installed in our engineering labs, and also is installed in
the Mathematics Department MDD 212 classroom lab. (Check for open
hours for MDD 212.) Students can buy MATLAB for their studies at a
much reduced cost; furthermore, GNU
Octave is a free package whose syntax is compatible with MATLAB,
and which has many of the functions present in Matlab.
