There is a package called Mathematica
that is available free of charge to all USL students on USL's
UCS system. This interactive package automatically does much of the
symbolic computation in precalculus and calculus, and does very nice two-
and three-dimensional graphs as well. I highly recommend either learning
how to use this package, or else buying a calculus-capable calculator such
as a TI-92. To use Mathematica,
type mathematica from a UCS command line prompt.
