Mathematics 455 Course Prerequisites

First Semester Numerical Analysis
Students must have completed three semesters of calculus and an ordinary differential equations course (Math. 350) with a grade of "C" or better. Additionally, students should have a working knowledge of Fortran (preferably Fortran 90), and should have a good working knowledge of the techniques of calculus. (An online tutorial in Fortran 90 is at http://wwwcn.cern.ch/asdoc/WWW/f90/f90.html, while a copy of the official ANSI standard can be found on UCS in /usr/local/doc/f90_std.ascii.)Any student who is in doubt about any of these prerequisites should contact the instructor.
