Mathematics 455 Computing Equipment
We will be using the University's
UCS Sun
(Unix-based) system, so that the instructor can make available
Fortran software
for doing assignments and projects. Students need to initialize
their accounts during the first week of class. The
Computing Center
also offers tutorials on how to use UCS (logging on, using the
editor, etc.) Information on how to run the Fortran 90 compiler
can be obtained by typing man f90.
General information about the UCS system can be obtained
by typing learn on a UCS machine.
The student should consult the
instructor if it
is desired to use alternate computing equipment or software.

resources.
